KWAGGAFONTEIN- Last week a murder suspect Jantjie May Mahlangu (41) of Kwaggafontein
appeared before Mkobola Magistrate Court and was remanded in custody until 15 April for bail
The incident occurred between Sunday 2019-03-31 at 18:00 and Monday 2019-04-01 at 08:00 when
the victim an African female (36), was found wearing Black and Brown dress and white sandals lying
in the pool of blood covered with a blanket and her underwear was next to her. She was lying not far
from where the suspect is residing. The deceased had two stabbed wounds on her neck and one
wound at the back.
Information at police disposal was that interview was conducted to the people who were nearby the
crime scene where the deceased was found. They (bystanders) alleged that they last saw the
deceased with the suspect the previous night (were not sure if they were in a relationship or what).
The suspect was interviewed by the investigating officer but denied the allegations. They (I/O and
suspect) both went to his residential place and they were welcomed by blood spot from the outside
towards the inside of the house. Upon entering there was blood on the floor and there was a blanket
also with blood.
Motive for murder was unknown pending investigation. The suspect Jantjie May
Mahlangu was arrested.
