KWANDEBELE COMMERCIAL RADIO STATION, COMING SOON.

KWANDEBELE – Flare FM is a new commercial radio station that will broadcasts online in areas under Nkangala Region with its primary focus to areas such as Kwaggafontein, KwaMhlanga, Siyabuswa, Moloto, Emalahleni, Middleburg, Ekangala, Cullinan, including to other parts of Pretoria. Flare FM has already established a mobile station in Middleburg and is available internationally by streaming audio over the Internet. As a commercial radio station, the broadcasting format carries 70% music and 30% talk shows, in an attempt to feature a variety of urban genres in R&B, soul, afro-pop, afro-soul, hip-hop, kwaito, house and also cater for jazz and gospel lovers.

Its presenters include the founder Lucky Professor Mahlangu, FBK Skosana , Steve Codesa Msiza , Seyvi Skhosana who are all prominent and experienced broadcasters with lots of experience from SABC RADIO. More, will come with a variety of young stars like Themba MTK Maombuka who brings with him a lot of passion in TV and Radio presenting from a local TV station Rising Sun TV and other young local talented rising stars.

Speaking to one of the founding member Lucky Professor Mahlangu he unpacked the Flare FM concepts and its target audience as a commercial radio station that aim to educate, inform and entertain the listeners. “This is the first commercial radio station that will broadcast in both isiNdebele and English in South Africa. Taking the  its name from the latitudinal light Flare, meaning high flames. We intent to produce creative and engaging programming for communities whose voices are underrepresented in the mainstream media,” said Lucky Professor Mahlangu.

As a commercial radio station, the broadcasting format carries 70% music and 30% talk shows. The music will feature a variety of urban genres in R&B, tradition, soul, afro-pop, Afro-Soul, hip-hop, kwaito, and house, and also cater for jazz and gospel lovers and what Flare FM describes as urban jazz and urban gospel. Peoples of all ages will each find that they have been included in the station’s broadcasts. “The idea is to cater for an ever diversifying audience was paramount to the decision to broadcast 70% in IsiNdebele and English 30%. Flare FM will broadcasts 24 hours throughout Mpumalanga with five transmitters covering the main towns and areas surrounding them,” Professor explained..

The station offers adult contemporary, interspersed with news and views from the station’s team of on-air personalities. The community is strongly reflected. Exciting competitions form part of the station’s day-to-day activities and at the time of going to press, there are competitions sponsored by Tastic Rice and Samsung Mobile , Uhlanga Industrial Resources, Dosma Communications , SOWETO tv Black Motion SA.
